SVSCL Chess Tournament

Three students smiling over a game of chess.

Homeschooling allows students to explore their passions and interests in unique ways, offering flexibility in their education. For three young homeschool students, their shared passion for chess led them on an exciting journey that brought them to the first SVSCL Chess Tournament of the school year. Each student showcased their remarkable skills and determination. 2nd grader Llewyn, 7th grader Tom, and 6th grader Finn have been working hard on new chess moves by attending different local chess meet ups or playing online. All the players did well at the tournament, with one student named Finn even mentioned in the local newspaper!
